Rock Art & the X-ray Style

This is the second version of a show I organized at my house two summers ago. I came up with doing the first one when I moved to Brighton Beach and thought it was funny that a lot of my friends work looked like shit I would see on the street and in peoples yards out here. I wanted the show to look like there wasn’t much of a difference between my yard and the abandoned lots. Last summer the house flooded with about three feet of water during the hurricane. The records, books, clothes and Hannahs writing got destryoed but a lot of my work turned out great after being water damaged. I gutted the house, put up new walls and floors. It took 7 months. I learned a lot -mostly from watching professionals do stuff and made a lot of shit up. The whole experience was really satisfying. I decided it would be fun to do a part two of that show. A lot of the work will still look like shit that could just be in some messed up yard but there will also be art inside the house this time. The renos are still being done so there lots of weird possibilities for adding stuff to the house.
